The Crucible

Written by Arthur Miller and set in Salem, Massachusetts in1692, this moving play tells the story of the witch trials and injustices that took place at this time.

Now a popular historical production for schools, drama examinations and amateur theatre, The Crucible requires specific period costumes which are easy to source from us at Admiral Costumes.

Reverend Parris is alarmed when his daughter Elizabeth becomes sick with a curious illness against a backdrop of rumours in the town regarding the practice of witchcraft. The play runs through the tragic events of further illness, trials and judgements of innocent victims.

Characters include; Tituba, the slave to Reverend Parrish, the Putnams, John Proctor the farmer and Danforth the pious judge.
