And The Horse You Rode In On

A new play performed by Cambridge University Amateur Dramatic Club will be appearing at the Paradise in Augustines during the Edinburgh Fringe this August.

And The Horse You Rode in On charts the last twenty minutes of calm before the call to charge and tells the story of ten men pushed to the brink in the trenches of the first world war and the damage its irresponsible leaders caused.

We are delighted to have provided some authentic world war costumes for this production and wish CUADC all the best with this project.

The Worst Princess

Milton Keynes retailer John Lewis and Barnardos children’s charity are working together to provide story telling sessions throughout the summer both in store and in schools.

The worst Princess by Anna Kemp, has been voted the favourite children’s book in this area and excerpts from the book were read and performed at the launch of this worthwhile initiative.

The story tells of Princess Sue who has waited forever for a prince to come rescue her from the boredom of her tower, but, when he finally arrives, she doesn't get the happy ending she's been expecting. Instead of the freedom and adventure she longs for, her prince puts her in a penthouse... in another tower. After all, dragon-bashing and armour is strictly for boys only. But Sue won't give up her happily ever after so easily! When she spies a ferocious dragon she promptly invites him to tea and the two of them team up to show the prince what's what and ride off into the sunset.

THE WORST PRINCESS is a princess tale with a twist: filled with rhyme, unexpected friendships, and gender stereotype-free adventure!

We are delighted to have provided costumes of the book characters for the launch.

Blackadder by Adhoc Theatre

“While the setting was minimal the costumes were the opposite, they were rich, colourful and entirely in keeping with the Elizabethan period. The extravagance of the costumes enhanced this production and made a stunning visual impact.”

This was the NODA review of Blackadder, produced in June by Adhoc Theatre Company and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to provide most of the costumes for this production.

Adhoc not only did a great job of bringing all the characters to life but made them very reminiscent of the TV series.

A thoroughly enjoyable and hilarious evening of entertainment by Adhoc Theatre company who have also produced some fabulous photos from the show which can be viewed on our website.

Lend me a Tenor

Lend me a Tenor is an uproarious musical comedy full of mistaken identities and romance.

It’s 1934, and the world’s greatest tenor Tito Merelli has come to Cleveland, Ohio, to save its Grand Opera Company by singing Otello. When he is unexpectedly incapacitated, Max, the Opera Director’s meek assistant, is given the daunting task of finding a last-minute replacement. Chaos ensues – including a scheming soprano, a tenor-struck ingĂ©nue, a jealous wife and the Cleveland Police department.

Costumes add hilarity to the plot with identical costumes for three Otello’s, and similar day outfits and evening wear for the Three Anna’s who play the ex-wives of Tito.

IODS are proud to be the first amateur company to perform this musical and we are delighted to have had the opportunity to costume this production.
