Rock ‘n Roll costumes

The 50’s era is extremely popular for music, dancing, glamour and clothing. Customers just love dressing up in the brightly coloured and flamboyant style clothes from the Rock n Roll era.

The 50’s was the first time that the term ‘teenager’ was used and the youngsters of the day, paved the way for the individualised style now expected from our youth.

A 50’s theme is an excellent choice for parties and events, with lively music, energetic dancing and colourful and glamorous clothes.

We have a great selection of Teddy Boy jackets complete with shirts, bootlace ties and shades for hire.  For the ladies we have a gorgeous choice of full skirted 50’s dresses or skirts with waspie belts, net petticoats and accessories to match.

Our 50’s style spot dresses can be made to order in a colour or fabric of your choice.

Costumes for the Fringe

A great selection of our costumes graced the stages at The Fringe this summer with all of our shows getting rave reviews.

Hartshorn-Hook’s production of the Rat Pack and Blues Brothers which have both been on tour throughout the UK, had excellent write ups. The female vocalists looked stunning in black and white evening gowns, sparkling with diamante and Ray Charles looked fabulous in his famous floral shirts.

We will be Free by Townsend Productions features a variety of character costumes some of which are based on the mummers style folk costumes, with St George and The Doctor in ragged folk style clothing to perfectly complement the beautiful English folk music composed by John Kirkpatrick.

Only two performers play all the characters in the plot, requiring smooth and quick costume changes which were expertly executed by Neil Gore and Liz Eves, who was nominated for the best actress award.

We are delighted to have had the opportunity to work with these talented professionals on their wonderful shows.

Allo Allo 2 – The Camembert Caper

‘Allo ‘Allo stage play is extremely popular for amateur productions, with many local theatre groups enjoying the wit and charm of this hilarious farce.

The Camembert Caper is a new special stage play sequel written by David Pibworth with kind permission from one of the original writers David Croft.  Using scripts from the popular television series, another hilarious episode can be enjoyed at the Chrysalis Theatre in Milton Keynes from 17th – 21st September.

Our 1940’s vintage clothing is absolutely ideal for productions of ‘Allo ‘Allo which is set in 1940’s France and requires authentic looking costumes for not only the main characters but the rest of the cast.

We are delighted to be involved with costuming this new show for Milton Keynes Theatre of Comedy and wish them all the best with this new production.

For more information on our 40’s range of specialist vintage wear for plays and events, please call 01908 372504 or visit www.admiralcostumes.co.uk
