What a fun vintage time we had at the Swingrave Vintage
Market on Sunday.
We took along some lovely vintage aprons, belts, jewellery, beads
and other accessories and a rail of specially selected vintage dresses and
clothing items to sell. Wingrave
community centre was flooded with swing lovers all enjoying the atmosphere and
looking for a bargain.
Swing music from the early 1940’s to early 50’s serenaded us
from 2- 4.30 and then Sophie Garner sung some gorgeous swing numbers live in a
half hour set until the Swing Dance started at 5.00pm.
Dressed as land army girls we set the scene in support of
the Wingrave 1940’s war archive and a 1940’s policeman and an RAF officer were
also seen mingling with the crowd.
Most of the dancers and stall holders looked stunning, dressed
in clothing from the 1940’s – 50’s for this event.
