Handfasting is an old custom dating back in time to the
ancient celts. It was originally a ceremony for a trial marriage which would
last for a year and a day.
The ceremony includes gently wrapping cords around the bride
and groom’s clasped hands and tying a knot, symbolically binding the couple
together.
The romantic cord tying could be included into any marriage
ceremony and we are delighted to have provided four bespoke ‘page boy’ costumes
for a pagan wedding which will be held on Handfasting day on the 6th
July.
