Wow! What a
year we have had at Admiral Costumes with over 64 shows successfully costumed,
a move to better premises and costumes featured on at least 3 TV shows.
We have
loved costuming a large variety of shows for amateur productions, schools,
colleges, opera societies and of course, individuals.
In 2017 we
had an enormous variety of genres and styles to put together which has been
great fun – we love doing something new!
The usual
favourites were put together for The Sound of Music, Allo Allo, Bugsy Malone
and Oliver, with new shows becoming more popular; Made in Dagenham and Wind inthe Willows.
More
unusual productions were the delightful Belle Helene, dramatic Brief Encounter
and Romeo and Juliet in a post- apocalyptic style.
Our
excellent range of 40s wear was put to good use with the CBBC’s Marrying Mum and
Dad series, where military and civilian wear was worn by a Scottish family
tying the knot at a blitz party.
With our
barbershop waistcoats appearing on Coronation Street and some of our 1800 century
style hats on BBC proms for Oklahoma, it has been a very exciting time.
Our move to
new premises in Little Horwood MK17, has given us the opportunity to improve our stock and revamp
our website. A fun new promotional video
can be seen on our website and on YouTube.
Thank you
to everyone who has sent us some truly fabulous photos and flyers of their
productions and events. We love to see them and share everyone’s success.
We are proud
to have supported the Blue Cross charity for animals with some period outfits
for a promotional calendar – the images are stunning and will raise much needed
cash for this worthy cause.
The team
here at Admiral Costumes wish all our friends and customers a brilliant 2018 and look forward to
panto season, Peter Pan and Frankenstein!
