Guys and Dolls nominated for David Beach Trophy

Guys and Dolls is a great show for schools; it is highly suitable for large casts, has some great characters and needs varied sets and colourful costumes.

It would be hard to find another show that incorporates such a variety of costumes. From the Missionary Band and the 50s crap shooters, to the Havana scene and show girls on the Hot Box, each scene has it’s own style.

Set in 1950’s New York, it tells the story of Sergeant Sarah Brown, of the Save a Soul Mission, who is vainly trying to spread the Word, and make a difference to the sin and depravity on the local streets, that are full of tipsters, gamblers and con men.

We are delighted to have provided costumes for the recent production of Guys and Dolls at Clevedon School in Bristol, which has been nominated for no less than 9 awards for the DavidBeach Trophy, by the Somerset Fellowship of Drama.

Special congratulations must go to Debbie Morgan who has been nominated for best director and a big thank you for sending us some fabulous images from the show.
