The
wonderful story of Billy Elliott the coal miner’s son who during a boxing
lesson, stumbled across a ballet class.
Miss
Wilkinson the ballet teacher recognised his potential and despite the obstacles
of wealth and his father’s ban on his dancing, he succeeded in becoming a
ballet star.
The musical
is set during the 1984 miner’s strike and the police are called upon to keep
open the picket lines.
As you can
see from the picture below the costumes look absolutely great and authentic to
the period.
